ASSISTANT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING ( AFI )
The AFI rating gives the holder a distinct advantage when it comes to the recruitment process and selection of Pilots by Airlines.
A trainee flight instructor should possess the following in addition to the ability to instruct-
A valid and current Commercial Pilot License
- Face Mask & Gloves provided to all students and staff
- Hand Sanitizers on board all training aircraft
- Temperature of students and staff monitored daily using infra red thermometers
- Aircraft disinfected before and after each flight using advanced techniques
- All Classrooms and other areas of ground School disinfected daily before and after each session
- Hand sanitizers provided in all all Classrooms
The ground training of 120 hours will consist of-
- Techniques of applied instruction
- Assessment in student performance
- The learning process
- Elements of effective teaching
- Student evaluation/testing
- Training programme development
- Lesson planning
- Classroom techniques
- Use of training aids
- Analysis/correction of student errors
- Human performance
- Hazards involved
Flight training will consist of a minimum of 25 dual hours and 05 mutual flying hours which will focus on flight instruction techniques including demonstration, student practices, recognition & correction of student errors.
